Daily Duties at Red Oak Independent School District:
Direct and manage district's food service programs. Assist the Director with developing menus that meet established nutritional requirements for students, including FMNV guidelines. Work cooperatively with campus principals to create lunch schedules and resolve personnel issues. Establish and direct process of providing free and reduced lunch applications following United States Department of Agriculture and Texas Education Agency guidelines for meal eligibility and reimbursement of federal funds. Develop and maintain procurement and written department procedures for all food service operations. Comply with federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy in food service area. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required for procurement in the total of $150,000. Develop and implement procedures to enhance the procurement and supply of products in the amount of $150,000. Maintain the ordering, receiving, scheduling and balance of food and paper products for the daily operation of the Student nutrition department. Prepare necessary data for processing of food service payroll. Plan and direct inventory and stock control program for equipment and supplies. Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions in food service department. Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operation in the food service area. Evaluate job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness. Recruit, train, and supervise personnel and make sound recommendations about personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal. Ensure that measures are in place and operating to protect food, supplies, and equipment in school cafeterias, lunchrooms, and warehouses. Maintain safety standards that confirm with federal, state, and insurance regulations and develop a program of preventive safety. Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovative techniques for food service operations. Process Commodity Processing and working with the Oracle Database. Provide training for the Child Nutrition Training Managers. Oversee the Child Nutrition Catering Coordinator. Process quotes and billing for the catering events. Ensures the child nutrition services department provides a supportive environment. Provide confidentiality to personnel records by the state and federal regulations. Provide confidentiality regarding Worker’s Compensation by the HIPAA Law. Ensures that the child nutrition services department provides a supportive environment to improve and sustain student goal performance. Coordinates and conducts employee safety program. Implements and monitors HACCP (food safety) plan.
