Daily Duties at Mansfield Isd:
Serves as the Acting Director (in the absence of the Director) for a large school district with 42 schools and report to the Director and Assistant Superintendent of the Student Nutrition Department. Manage daily operations of the department by coordination effectively with the Director and Assistant Superintendent as well as other parts of the department. Implement departmental policies and procedures in the meantime of directing managing daily activities to include personnel administration, recruitment, all types of training sessions, and payroll submission. Work cooperatively with all internal and external customers. Establish and direct process of providing free and reduced lunch applications following United States Department of Agriculture and Texas Education Agency guidelines for meal eligibility and reimbursement of federal funds. Develop and maintain procurement and written department procedures for all food service operations. Comply with federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required for procurement. Develop and implement procedures to enhance the procurement and supply of products in the total of $1.3 million. Maintain the ordering, receiving, scheduling and balance of food and paper products for the daily operation of the Student nutrition department. Prepare necessary data for processing of food service payroll. Plan and direct inventory and stock control program for equipment and supplies. Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions in food service department. Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operation in the food service area. Evaluate job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness. Submit bids for best value items and submit recommendations for approval. Recruit, train, and supervise personnel and make sound recommendations about personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal. Ensure that measures are in place and operating to protect food, supplies, and equipment in school cafeterias, lunchrooms, and warehouses. Maintain safety standards that confirm with federal, state, and insurance regulations and develop a program of preventive safety. Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovative techniques for food service operations. Process Commodity Processing. Provide training for the Child Nutrition Training Managers. Oversee the Child Nutrition Catering Coordinator. Process quotes and billing for the catering events. Ensures the child nutrition services department provides a supportive environment. Provide confidentiality to personnel records by the state and federal regulations. Provide confidentiality regarding Worker’s Compensation by the HIPAA Law. Coordinates and conducts employee safety program. Implements and monitors HACCP (food safety) plan.
