Daily Duties at St. Joseph Health System:

Under general supervision of the Controller, oversees day to day operations and staff at the Tawas site. In addition performs a variety of accounting and technical functions for the Accounting & Finance Department. Month end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliatons, bank reconciliations, budgeting along with the annual 5 year forecast model ISOFP , preparation of financial statements, gathering and reporting of various statistics and various other accounting functions or projects as assigned by either the Controller or CFO. Other duties listed below... - Preparation & submission of the Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicaid RHC Cost report required for reimbursement. - In-depth analyzing of billing data to key on issues or problems within the systems. - Preparing and reporting monthly for Physician Enterprise group. - Analyze data and project pro-formas for new system lines of service. - Prepares Capital and Fixed assets for the health system. - Reviews and purposes changes in processes to help the overall department function at a more precise level. - Understand the revenue cycle and assisting in implementing of new systems. - Understanding of the general ledger and the supplement systems attached. - Assisted as lead finance in our transition to symphony and PeopleSoft. - Oversees calculating, posting, verifying, and typing duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. - Prepares foundation financials monthly and has understanding of investments. - Leads most day to day operations of group. - Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. - Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. - Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels. - Serves as resource to new staff and managers on timekeeping system. - Admin of several systems ran in both the billing dept and the finance dept. - Performs as designated system backup staff when manager not available
