Daily Duties at Florida Power Corp.:
Managed all Nuclear Waste, Hazardous Waste and Asbestos control functions and ensured all systems and programs operated efficiently and were maintained in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Managed the Nuclear Waste Section contracts Maintained the section budget for seven years without a budget increase Project management of new waste processing equipment instillation Project management of the Nuclear Waste Demineralizer System Optimization Managed the following areas in the Nuclear Waste Section: • Liquid radioactive waste processing; solid radioactive waste control and packaging • Storage of radioactive waste; shipment of radioactive material and waste • Equipment decontamination and area decontamination • Asbestos control program, hazardous waste control program and mixed waste control program Provided the methods to track the Nuclear Waste Section and plant performance in the areas responsible which demonstrated that there was a reduction in Radioactive waste every year. Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste spill response, Hazardous Waste Incident Commander Interfaced with Federal, State and local regulatory agencies, industry groups and vendors to improve the programs and solve problems in areas of responsibility Performed 10CFR50.59 safety evaluations
