Daily Duties at Comfort Suites O'hare:
Directed operations of a hotel with 160 rooms and 5,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Worked with corporate to develop strategic plans. Managed P&L and budgets with a focus on cost control. Supervised a team of 60 employees, including managers for Housekeeping, Maintenance, Front Office, and F&B. Interviewed prospective employees and made all hiring decisions. Conducted regular inspections of the property to ensure cleanliness and maintenance. Managed relationships with tenants (a bar and meeting planning company). Generated reports, including gross operating profit and Revpar. Interacted with guests on a daily basis to ensure satisfactions and solve problems in a proactive manner. Improved guest satisfaction rating (LTR) from 7.41 – 8.20 by enhancing training and improving standards for maintenance/cleanliness. Maintained 85-90% occupancy in a competitive area near a major airport. Mentored and promoted an employee to Front Office Manager. Enhanced skills in managing P&L and new technical systems, including payroll.
