Daily Duties at Luminant Power:

• Managed the day to day operation of an 1800 MW coal fired power plant, including fuel, feedstock, commodities and byproduct disposition; supervising 7 direct and 140 indirect workers in the 24-hour operations of the facility encompassing maintenance scheduling, clearance coordination and outage planning. • Developed long term operational parameters, plans and equipment strategies and administered a $60M O&M and Capital budgets to improve plant reliability and economics. • Performed periodic P&L analysis. Measured Plant performance against metric expectations and resolved variances to either the plant metrics or the power utilization plan. • Increased plant and personnel productivity while simultaneously reducing head count 12% through procedure development and multi skill training, apprenticeship and human performance improvement training • Fostered an open and accepting work place with core values based on Safety, Compliance and equipment reliability. This allowed the facility to run for two years without a lost time injury, environmental noncompliance and at 97% equivalent availability in a technically sound, regulatory and environmentally compliant manner. • Acted as Project Manager for plant related improvements, made critical design decisions and performed hands on engineering team oversight to ensure project scopes included proper provisions and specifications for the purchase of major equipment or materials.
