During my 20 year tenure as President & CEO of Verizon's Directory Group, our success in every category rose to record levels. Once I had completed my role of merging Bell Atlantic, NYNEX and GTE which led to the name change that would be known as Verizon, I had made a change in my career. My career up to point had been rewarding and personally fulfilling but it was time to move on. I wasoffered a turnaround role for a VC firm which got my interest in building, growing, selling and buying other companies. I would then be considered a business consultant that oped many doors to a variety of businesses.
