Daily Duties at Hcl America:
Senior Sybase Database Administrator and Team Lead for client FedEx - Working as a Senior Sybase DBA and leading a team for the Sybase and MSSQL track. - Working as point of escalation and responsible for all the issues which are reported to me by the offshore or by the application team. - Supporting an Environment 24 * 7 which consists of Sybase ASEs, Sybase Replication Servers. - Working as a single point of contact from the database team at the client location for all issues related to Sybase as well as Oracle database. - Working on the migration of the Sybase databases to the Oracle databases. - Involved with the application team to prepare a plan to move the existing applications from Sybase to Oracle with minimum issues. - Working on issues related to day to day basis like job failures, space issues, performance issues. - Planning and executing the tasks for the weekends as well as for the migration. - Currently working on some issues which are reoccurring and implemented / tested the resolution already on Development servers and will implement on Production soon. - Working on the Oracle database and working with the application teams to prepare and execute the plans. - Working on implementing the Cassandra databases across the environment.
