Daily Duties at Nb Consultants Inc:
My leadership background allowed me to organize across departmental boundaries. I created a MS Excel database of Amtrak applications and key status and tracking information for each app. Identifying and meeting with key stakeholders the status of the applications they owned, collecting necessary information from the subject matter experts. This was to develop a comprehensive technical plan for the support teams identifying key gaps in their documentation and in-house knowledge base and aligned accountability better to SME’s more attuned to the task technology. This technical plan will be used to modernize their application infrastructure and create a sustainable technology organization positioned for success in the future. My style for a cross-organizational project like this is one of coaching and inspiration. Not using impersonal data gathering emails, which get little or at best late responses, but meeting with and but engaging each of the teams and system owners in their own success. Convincing them of the potential of contributing and spending time gathering data points. Many of the key stakeholders were at remote sites and had to be brought together and engaged using remote communication tools. The most positive outcome of the project is the excitement generated among the diverse teams in the potential of the modernization project.
