Daily Duties at The Wlb Group:

WLB-Director of Operations, Las Vegas Office October 2004 through March 2016 Since starting with WLB, rose through the ranks as a senior designer, project manager, Director of Landscape Architecture and Director of Operations for the Las Vegas Office. Skills as a Landscape Architect have been greatly enhanced by being a part of a multi-disciplined firm working with civil engineers, surveyors, planners and our construction management team. Management Skill Set:  Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction as well as landscape architecture.  Comfortable discussing grading and drainage issues, pavement cross sections, utility conflicts, planning and regulatory requirements and of course plant material and spatial relationships of good design.  Strengthened personnel management skills and broaden the business management role.  Establish and maintain client relations.  write and prepare proposals for funding and project start up.  Communication, leadership and vision are keys to the success of any design problem, project schedule or firm growth and development. Daily duties:  Overseeing of the management and production staff, client development, fee proposal and administrating the project accounts under my direction.  Concurrent involvement with numerous projects of varying scales, complexity, and budgets.  Public projects require multiple agencies and public involvement, Comfortable in doing public speaking and project promotion. Can convey complex principles and put them into layman’s terms for easy understanding.  Project financial responsibility, requiring collections and other legal remedies. Understand budgets and how projects are paid for and handle multiple projects with multiple funding sources.  Tasked with human resources issues such as office safety plans, hiring department heads, developing performance plans, counseling staff performance, motivating and rewarding when necessary, resolving conflicts and establishing training procedures.
