Daily Duties at Atkins:

Operations Responsibilities include:  Partner with Operations managers and Business Unit leaders to procure new and existing clients and nurture business development and projects.  Foster teamwork - Provide motivational support to enhance team commitment to projects.  Mentor team members to achieve professional development goals and enhance their capabilities.  Build collaborative relationships by developing, maintaining and strengthening partnerships with others inside and outside Atkins.  Support innovation and organizational changes needed to improve office effectiveness / profitability; Interview potential candidates for employment positions.  Work cooperatively with staff, clients and consultants to establish/maintain effective working relationships Plan and conduct work utilizing independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of standard professional regulations, techniques and procedures. Business Development Responsibilities:  Stay abreast of business, market / industry trends to identify business opportunities.  Complete and/or contribute to the preparation of proposals, RFQs, fee establishment and marketing materials.  Assist with the preparation of marketing presentations; Pursue business development opportunities; Attend conferences, workshops and meetings promoting Atkins. Project Responsibilities:  Supervise work production identifying design requirements, project budget, and schedule. Maintain collaboration and project goal with project team designer.  Maintain leadership role with the technical and financial aspects of all projects.  Plan, organize and manage the production of contract documents including markups and owner/review comments; ensure that comments are incorporated.  Plan and coordinate the work and hours of staff team members.  Actively participate in design review quality process; ensure design reviews are scheduled and conducted as required.  Utilize software programs such as BlueBeam, Oracle, Excel, Word, Photoshop, InDesign etc.  Actively participate in document quality process; ensure working drawings and specifications are thoroughly and completely reviewed at each submittal stage and prior to the bidding period.  Follow 5 step QA/QC process.  Ensure that all technical design changes that are approved comply with the client’s standards, systems, procedures and objectives.  Certify contract document quality and completeness with signature and State issued seal.
