Daily Duties at Physician Oncology Specialists:

Oncology Pharmacist in out-patient oncology office Analyze patient laboratory results: CBC, ANC, creatinine, BUN, and LFTs and evaluate chemotherapy treatment plans and orders Ensure that treatments are FDA approved for diagnosis and follow NCCN guidelines while maintaining strict compliance with JCAHO and OSHA regulations governing the practice of pharmacy • Pivotal in calculating BSA, creatinine clearance, and chemotherapy drug doses and held responsible for adjusting drug does when appropriate Assume full responsibility in preparing and dispensing IV chemotherapy drugs Organize patient profiles including diagnosis, treatment plan, BSA, allergies, age, CBC, and other information new drugs and procedures Order all drugs and supplies, provided drug information to clinical staff and patients, and handled J-code billing of drugs Inventory control; remove from active inventory and return expired drugs
