Daily Duties at Ewing Marion Kauffman School:
Served as the Dean of Students for some 445 fifth and sixth graders at a local charter school. Working with my partner dean, my primary duties included: Supervising discipline and ensuring that the social and academic culture of our school is conducive to learning for all. Guiding and supporting teachers and working 1:1 or with small groups of students in the area of classroom management. Serving as the primary parent liaison for my school in helping to ensure positive relationships and high parent satisfaction. Scheduling and holding parent orientations, reintegration meetings of students after suspensions, and creating support of other school policies. Ensuring that our students successfully navigate through a college preparatory school with a rigorous curriculum that we believe will ultimately create college graduates.
