Daily Duties at Ge:
-Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. - Utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and some long-term business goals. -Provide direction and leadership to production employees, including work assignments, scheduling of overtime, and training -Guide daily production needs across all three shifts; direct handover meeting with off shift supervisors -Own the results of business critical metrics including safety, quality and affectivity -Take a leadership role in working with cross-functional peers in manufacturing engineering, materials, quality, and product support engineering to root cause and resolve issues -Arrange for adequate staffing to meet the production schedules set by production planning and consistent with the operating plan; anticipate needs in advance -Support, encourage and facilitate core manufacturing principles by providing adequate time for training and for teams to accomplish continuous improvement projects that deliver impact to the key business metrics -Work to maintain and further develop a Visual Workplace including support for a 5-S program, active project boards, performance measure charts, and training program status boards -Support all company workplace policies including attendance and safety objectives; proactively manage difficult situations -Work with HR to develop a performance oriented work environment encompassing timely performance appraisals, reviews for new employees, and timely disciplinary action when warranted
