Daily Duties at Cox Automotive Inc.:

Senior Product Training Manager/National Field Trainer (Remote position) Achievements:  Initiated needs assessments with mid-executive level management to identify knowledge gaps. Used assessments to customize multiple training programs (ADDIE Model) to address specific gaps for employees across all business units.  Infused a leadership culture through delivery of a variety of instructor led and CBT programs including: Franklin Covey content - 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Leading at the Speed of Trust, and 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity, Project Management Essentials, and Presentation Advantage, Situational Leadership, Crucial Conversations, Unconscious Bias, PROSCI Change Management, Harvard Business Publishing, Inside Out Coaching, CEB Challenger (sales training), and other customized training solutions.  Increased client adoption rate of key products and services which enhanced revenues for both Cox Automotive and its clients. This increase was made possible by partnering with key stakeholders to develop, design and implement customized sales and product training to employees and management, companywide.  Increased leadership bench strength across multiple business units through a customized eight module computer based leadership program. The program, titled Step up to Management, based on Harvard Mentor e-learning modules enabled newly promoted managers to more effectively lead their teams and excel in their new managerial roles.  Promoted a leadership culture companywide through the development of a six module instructor led program based on concepts from Harvard Business Publishing. The training was used to further develop mid-level managers across the organization. Topics included: effective delegation, strategic thinking, managing conflict, talent management, and performance appraisals.  Initiated an internal mentoring program with approximately 100 employees of the CoxAuto talent team. Results to include increased bench strength from cross training, and a mentoring model which can be used throughout all business units as part of succession planning. GERALD A. MCCONNELL Page 2  Improved communication skills at all organizational levels through delivery of a customized time-phased effective presentations course based on researched best practices. The program was delivered to in-tact teams, managers and individual contributors. It included one-on-one  coaching for each participant. Results included employees’ markedly improved ability to express their ideas and gain buy-in for proposed projects and organizational strategies.  Led multiple teams through customized customer service workshops. Empowered employees at all levels through World Café brainstorming strategies, enabling best practices to be uncovered and then adopted by all locations companywide.  Partnered with executive leadership to develop, design and implement customized sales workshops for Sales team, using Challenger Sales Process - CEB Leadership Council. Results included behavioral shift in sales professional’s selling approach. The approach was based on insight selling through the techniques of Teach – Tailor – Take Control. Sales professionals learned to conduct individual SWOT analysis for customers in order to identify how Cox Automotive could help strengthen their weaknesses and leverage their opportunities.
