Daily Duties at Sports Endeavors:
• Daily walk-throughs of all production areas. Works in coordination with the plant manager, identification and resolution of any production "bottle-necks", safety, organizational and operational issues. • Facilitate daily production meetings with all related department managers and supervisors. • Maintain and continually improve the plant manufacturing systems. • Direct the operation of all manufacturing departments, providing support to the supervisory team as needed. • Assist in the implementation of new manufacturing processes, product technology, and systems technology to achieve the location's manufacturing objectives. • Assist in establishing, communicating and implementing operational standards for throughput, cost control, waste reduction, quality, and on-time delivery. • Assist Plant Manager with staffing, training and development of subordinates consistent with department and corporate operating objectives. Analyze staffing volume and applicable work in parallel with function, ensure that overstaffing and overtime are reduced/eliminated • Meet with executive staff, sales, planners, vendors and customers to synchronize created schedule with real time production • Assist in the development of corporate competency testing tools. • Assist team leaders in the handling of all employee and personnel issues. • Train and certify all heavy equipment to OSHA standard • Utilize “5S” Kaizen lean management system • Identify and eliminate waste in transportation, inventory, movement, waiting (bottlenecks), over production (push production), over processing (redundant QA or excessive steps in process), Defects (causing rework), Skills (underutilization or utilization with lack of foundation through training • Create, track and utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to generate foundational operation metrics and standards in operations • Work as a change manager (culture/process) as company advances through lean process and new SAP implementation • Sports Endeavors directly supplies and customizes products include Nike, Puma, Fila, Adidas, New Balance • Customers – retail market, soccer teams, including Team USA men’s and women’s teams • Manage 4 separate production areas – all separate functions with overlapping and successive flow through 850,000 square foot facility • Up to 220 direct reports – 8 team leads, 4 Warehouse operators, 8 QA’s, 200 General production labor
