Daily Duties at Department Of Veterans Affairs:
Oversaw eight employees and managed content and processing of VA's congressional correspondence. Supervised mandated reports and post hearing questions. Coordinated VA's interactions with the Government Accountability Office. Led briefings to congressional staff and created white papers on critical issues. Delivered recommended actions to the Assistant Secretary regarding complex political and sensitive congressional issues. Key Accomplishments: Led implementation of new Congressional Reports and Correspondence Service, including the hiring of staff, promoted training to improve and develop employee skills. Introduced tools to improve the quality and punctuality of Department responses to Congress; average response times were reduced by 10 days for correspondence and 30 days for reports. Administered and efficiently tracked 1300+ inquiries annually including testimony, hearing questions, correspondence and reports, achieving the 1st efficient VA management/tracking of these communications.
