Daily Duties at Allegheny Energy:

First chair litigator and Manager of a multi-state staff of 12 direct reports who handled roughly 500 new ‘public general liability,’ property damage, personal injury and wrongful death claims each month. Hired, monitored, and assisted local, national, and international counsel in high stakes litigation; Developed ‘creative mitigation strategies’ that decreased the percentage of matters that escalated to litigation by over 60%. Also managed the economical resolution of over 10,000 cases filed by non-employees alleging intentional exposure to asbestos; Implemented strategies to assure that litigated and non-litigated claims would consistently be resolved in a light most favorable to the Company.
