From requirement state to test on vehicle. - Competence fields: Mobile Hydraulic systems, basic mobile electronic control, Basic Aluminium welding process, expert in tolerance calculations and technical drafting, expert in hydraulic connectors, mobile valve banks, designing hydraulic blocks for power hydraulic and lubrication hydraulics. Expert in hydraulic components, pumps, cylinders, hydromotors, hydraulically powered cooling systems. - As a Unit manager: We are responsible of desing and integrate Powerpack (transmission, engine, hydraulics, pneumatic, fuel, bilge, seating, AC, heating, isolation) systems on to vehicles. - From customer specification to serial production we actively work on every step of design process. Deriving Requirements, Creating ICD's, Modeling, drafting, purchasing, contributing ILS package, prototyping and finally testing is in our scope. - I'm responsible to conduct activities of the Design Engineering Department aligned with FNSS D&D process steps such as: - Provide coaching, training, direction, and performance review to direct reports - Be responsible for the personal & professional development of direct reports - Lead & manage design processes and support junior members of the design team to develop technical skills - Check, control & evaluate the work that the junior members of the design team delivers - Create or upgrade new designs and modifications using a CAD application - Develop practical solutions to technical problems in compliance with design engineering requirements - · Develop and documents functional requirements and translate into detail design documents - · Research new materials and competitive products - · Organize, coordinate, and execute building and analysis of prototypes - Participate in and supports proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports by quarterly Tasks, responsibilities and achievements: - Some Design tasks done by me when I was hydraulic design engineer: o Requirements came from both system level and derived by other engineers. o These requirements broken down to hydraulic parameter as: speed into flow, force into pressure. o With these parameters power pack options are analysed to determine displacement, displacement of hydraulic configuration items (pumps, cylinders, hydro motors, accumulators valve type etc.). o Power pack PTO options are selected. o Preliminary Hydraulic architecture were released. Preliminary schematic, max pressure, fitting families to be used, hydraulic oil to be used, open or close loop systems decision etc. o Power takin ratings are calculated. Heat rejection rates, functional analysis with respect to CONOPS are drafted. o With these options, concept baseline review of system has done. o After approval of the system pump configuration was studied with producers. o Valve blocks are logically drawn and several cartridge valve producers (SUN, Hydraforce, PARKER) prepare their block quotations. o There were mobile valve blocks used in this project. Valve blocks were configured with Sauer sanfoss and PARKER. o Cylinders are drawn with its producer and seal provider. o Hydraulic reservoir designed with structural engineers. Flow inside the tank is chacked with 3D fluid analysis programs. Reservoir accessories (temperature, level, filter, hatch etc.) are selected. o After first draft of equipment released, routing of pipes, hoses are started. Fittins are selected. o Functional requirements broken down into electronic sequencing charts to provide them electronic requirements. o After drafting and procurement phases passed and all components were ready to assemble, assemble phase was started. Feedback from these phase was registered and problems on site were solved. o According to flushing and startup procedures system started up. o According to Test and evaluation master plan and Internal test plan, test procedures were prepared. Both performance and potential of the system were tested. o Final Technical Data Package of hydraulics released as advance state and project finished with lessons learned phase. - My tasks as Power Pack Unit Manager when PARS 8x8 project was active: o I have obtained critical documents (Technical spec. and System level requirements) from system engineering and Tech. Leader to determine draft manpower. o I have review each requirement with my expert engineers to decide which configuration items needed. o With these man-hours and combining with other project values I have prepared resource forecast table in excel. o Analysing this table, number of employees from different competency for team has been found. o I have planned further employment plan. o For each sub system under power pack I have derived design roadmap including drafter pool resource, design documentation template, verification plan, drafting quality plan, number of spares for testing etc. o These data were handover to the Tech. Leader of vehicle to plan project calendar. o During project, I made reviews on critical gates and I have continuously update resource forecast. o I prepare reports on development requests coming from previous projects. o I plan trainings and prepare training budget annually. o I made performance review semi-annually. I made competence evaluation annually. - Some tasks done by as KAPLAN tracked vehicle Technical Leader. o Prepare Concept design Plan and tailor it according to the contract. o Prepare master Geometry o Prepare master volume o Manage concept design team to calculate system level requirements. o Plan long lead item procurement. o Manage concept team to determine engine, transmission, gearboxes, track, final drive as they are configuration items. o Get approval to concept plan. o Plan detail design phase. o Release top level product tree. o Calculate and continuously update CoG and weight analysis. - An 8x8 vehicle named PARS with 12 of its variants power pack were designed by My team. Requirements with concept work were handed over to my team. Engine foot mounting, oil tank for dry sump, Transmission coupling are done. A frame was built to carry engine transmission, air filter, exhaust, cooling module, cooling fan, hydraulic reservoir etc.. Pumps, PTO for pumps on transmission, Pulley, belt and brackets designed for AC, Alternator. Bilhe pump systems are integrated to get rid of water ingress into engine bay. A hydraulic block (which has over 700 drill holes) to control all hydraulic powered functions (Steering, Parking Brake, Ramp door, Trim vane, Winch) was designed. - Analysis is done by…; - Operating instructions, pointing out structural problems and bottlenecks using .... techniques; - Deutz, ZF, Donaldson, PARKER, Hydraforce, Sun hydraulics are some international contact points for these designs. There were also countless local suppliers used. - … Environment / tools: CATIA, Ansys, Automation studio, ENOVIA Program central and other engineering tools are used by my team.
