Daily Duties at Ibm:
Guided IT programming teams in resolving issues with code, designs, databases, performance, and systems security. As subject matter expert on mainframe issues, provided recommendations and solutions on resolving major challenges. Addressed cost, product, integration, and staffing issues. Ensured support for a total of 60 personnel and 15 contractors throughout 4 application programming departments, as well as other North American, Latin American, and Asia Pacific teams. • Cut FY2009 system costs by $500,000 across the operational and end-user warehouse systems. • Eliminated 30% of Asia Pacific client end-user expenses by developing a custom DB2 database and providing DBA training. Integral in developing 5 database automation tools. • Instrumental in the design and launch of a robust, efficient DB2 security application that introduced the first web interface for the legacy system. Enabled suppliers and non-IBM clients to manage orders and inventory, eliminating the need for help desk and client support. • Automated conversion for DB2 table storage management policies, which cut conversion time from 9-12 months to 6 weeks.
