Daily Duties at Cyberonics:

Within his role as Strategic Marketing Manager, Michael directed multiple research initiatives to define a product development path and marketing strategy for an unreimbursed remote patient monitoring of epileptic seizures. Michael planned and developed a strategy for building a new business model within the current organization and recommended “Go” to CEO. Senior staff agreed on first new business model in over a decade. He has produced and supervised a cross-functional Business Planning Team to assess the potential impact of new product development initiatives on corporate strategy. Few core functional areas include: • Established strategy for obtaining CPT codes. • Incorporated findings into novel business model for monetizing target assets. • Created accurate pro-forma modeling tool for evaluating financial attractiveness of potential product development initiatives. Tool also designed to evaluate multiple deal structures (e.g. upfront payments, milestones, royalties & triggers) • Professionally represented marketing department on a cross-functional team dedicated to evaluating potential external partnerships with companies and investigators. Team met bi-weekly to evaluate proposals submitted and to determine which were of strategic importance to the organization.
