Daily Duties at Alion Science & Technology:
Managed Environmental Services Assistance Team contract and technical staff for U.S. EPA Region 2 technical contract valued at $10M. Spearheaded the last year of a 7-year project, with a staff of 15. Oversaw staff performing organic and inorganic laboratory testing, quality control, field sampling, and data validation/review for Superfund and non-Superfund operations at U.S. EPA’s Region 2 laboratory. Turned around data validation results by reorganizing leadership. Improved teamwork, timeliness, and cost efficiency, resulting in significantly better client satisfaction and higher performance scores. Cross-trained contractor staff; within 6 months 80% of staff were cross-trained, aligning with the organization’s “added value” philosophy. Satisfied the EPA’s requirement for technical diversity. Oversaw quality assurance and quality control, customer relations, technical and personnel performance, and budget management. Maintained quality procedures and accreditation to national NELAC standards. Achieved 100% scores on blind test samples and improved overall performance.
