Daily Duties at Spirit Aero Systems 787 8, 787 9 Wing Fixed / Movable Leading Edge Structures:

Design 787-9 Wing Movable Leading Edge Ribs: Worked on site at Boeing to optimize and integrate 787-9 Wing Movable Leading Edge Ribs for the new derivative. Coordinated closely with Design Lead Engineers and affected stakeholders including Stress, Materials and Processes, Weights, Manufacturing to optimize 787-9 Wing Movable Leading Edge Ribs. Completed release of all 787-9 Slat 1 and 6 MLE Rib MBDs, ARMs IRMs and RLMs. Burn down Manufacturing Change Requests: Coordinated with Boeing Design Lead Engineers to burn down Manufacturing Change Requests. Completed several CRs, releasing 787-8 Fixed Leading Edge MBDs, ARMs and IRMs to resolve problems encountered in the assembly of the 787-8. Design Slat 7 and 10 Static and Fatigue Test Fixtures: Designed a Static and Fatigue Test Fixture to simulate the 787-8 Fixed Leading Edge Main Track and Aux Track Rib Roller interface in the Retracted Preloaded and Take Off Preloaded positions for Slats 7 and 10. Coordinated Static and Fatigue Test Fixture interfaces directly with Tooling Engineers on site in Wichita, Kansas, while meeting loading requirements provided by Stress Analysts in Everett, Washington to insure first time quality and seamless interfaces between production hardware and Test Fixture parts. Developed and released hundreds of 787-8 Component Level Test parts. Design Flight Test parts to support wiring required for four Flight Test aircraft: Designed Flight Test Brackets required to support additional wiring for four Flight Test aircraft. Coordinated wiring to 787-8 Fixed Leading Edge structure interfaces with Design Lead Engineers and Flight Test Engineers when developing Brackets. Completed development and release of hundreds of 787-8 Flight Test parts supporting wiring required for Flight test of four 787-8 airplanes. Design Slat 9 Fatigue Test Fixture: Designed a Fatigue Test Fixture to simulate loads on a typical Slat. Coordinated Fatigue Test Fixture interfaces directly with Tooling Engineers on site in Wichita, Kansas, while meeting loading requirements provided by Stress Analysts in Everett, Washington to insure first time quality and seamless interfaces between production hardware and Test Fixture parts. Developed and released Component Level Test parts to interface with 787-8 Slat 9 six inch test specimens for Fatigue Tests.
