Daily Duties at Winstream:
Advanced operations support technician in 24/7 operations center. This position requires remote trouble diagnostics and problem correction on HDSL, DS0, DS1, DS3, P2P, VoIP, MPLS and ISP backbone networks and circuits. Telnet into routers and switches, as well as dispatch field technicians to assisting with repair of customer onsite troubles, prioritizing escalations and network outages. Analyze traces to identify network routing errors. • Configure PRI, DHO, DSO, DS1, DS3, ISDN, BRI complex business and residential lines in Nortel DMS, Lucent 5E and Metaswitch networks • Troubleshoot complex translations & routing troubles, reporting and resolving database discrepancies • Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routers and UNIX commands • Remotely test and troubleshoot physical layer for DS0 and DS1 using various support tools • Monitor network outages and work with Network Operations Center to resolution
