Daily Duties at Micros Systems Inc. / Oracle:

Held many positions with Micros Systems, started as a Field Service Technician, and transitioned into the following positions, Sr. Field Service Technician, Service Manager, Customer Service Manager, and Project Manager. In my role as a Service Manager I was responsible for managing and developing the Field Service department, and team. I worked with the Service Dispatcher who received customers reported issues from the corporate Help Desk, and dispatched the tickets to the Service Technicians. I managed the departments labor costs, the office inventory, and generated department revenue. I managed a staff of 11. I hired, trained, evaluated, and disciplined, and terminated staff. I was an escalation contact for employee and customer concerns. I would resolve conflict between departments, and resolve customer support and billing issues. I developed procedures for technicians vehicle inventory, and on-call schedules. Developed a formal training program for new hire technicians. In my role as a Project Manager I was responsible for managing new equipment installations for customers locations. I would be assigned a customers contract, I would get the scope of work from the Sales Team, Contact the customer and schedule a kick-off meeting to get the customers system requirements, and provide the customer with the company's requirements needed for installing the system correctly. I would create an installation schedule, with milestones that need to be met by both the customer and our organization. The project team would be identified and assigned to the project. Schedule milestones would be distributed to the team. A Risk Management plan would be created and secondary options would be created. Meetings with the customer would be scheduled to discuss reporting requirements, status on network and power testing. The database would be tested by the customer and approved for installation. Project team members would test all interfaces (credit cards, accounting systems), and the customers staff would be trained on the operations of the system. After the database and interfaces have been tested and signed off, and staff training completed the systems live date would be scheduled. The normal timeframe of a project from inception to closing is 6-8 weeks. The project team size depended on the size of the project. Project size would range from a small café to a mega resort, to a hotel &casino, to a sports stadium. I also took on the management of the local offices Telco and Network systems.
