Daily Duties at Frontier Communications, Inc.:
Maintained the company financial records under responsibility in compliance with company policies and directives, US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.Led the monthly/quarterly and annual close processes including consolidation, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, revenue provisions & accruals, financials reviews with cadence from draft close to final reported numbers.Led the transition efforts to new revenue standards ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers and ASC 340-40, Other Assets and Deferred Costs – Contracts with Customers. Proactively researched technical revenue issues and provided guidance on revenue questions related to new or non-standard contract terms, service offerings, and marketing programs. Served as the main contact for revenue related inquiries. Maintained appropriate documentation for the accounting treatment of complex and highly judgmental areas, including analysis, relevant literature and conclusions. Supported FP&A business analysts, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Cost, Regulatory and Tax teams on technical issues including communication and training on new accounting guidance. Served as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors to support quarter end, interim, year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communication. Continually prioritized team’s workload and responded to top priorities with a sense of urgency. Cultivated and maintained effective relationships within the team and across departments. Worked closely with the SEC reporting group in preparation of the 10Q and 10K filings. Effectively allocated responsibilities effectively to ensure the accounting department was staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities. Provided constructive feedback, guidance, coaching and promoted the development of team members.
