Daily Duties at National Institute Of Standards & Technology:
I established a measurement sciences capability at NIST for molecular diagnostics. I chaired 2 workshops to determine the needs of the diagnostics community, working closely with FDA, CDC, and Molecular Diagnostic laboratory directors. I initiated measurement research for genetic disease and cancer resulting in peer-reviewed publications. As the program developed, it was recognized by others and NIST was granted .contracts with NCI and military for the development and validation of diagnostic tests and methods.
