Daily Duties at Met Life :
Direct, lead the performance of four direct reports who were titled as business and sales learning consultants. Our primary role was to conduct sales capability diagnostics by working with business leaders in the Bancassurance, Employee Benefits and Direct Marketing distribution teams in MetLife's priority countries. We were responsible for understanding their current sales capability and their business objectives and then to provide recommended learning solutions to support the attainment of those goals. We use a proprietary sales capability assessment tool, review documents like sales reports, marketing plans, training documents, etc. Also we conducted interviews of key personnel to include their clients, we visited and observed the operations and activities of salespeople. Then with the data and information, we conducted analysis and drafted a report that summarized the status of the business. We also included action steps or recommendations to implement by the business. Lastly, we would schedule and execute on the recommendations. We also facilitated enterprise-wide learning programs to an internal audience. The programs were either sales skills learning modules or HR learning modules, i.e., change management, process management, leadership development topics. As a member of the function's leadership team, we planned and executed the changes that were needed to align to corporate objectives. First, in 2014 we incorporated three different learning functions into one team, called Global Learning and Development. In 2015, we right-sized the function to better serve MetLife's regions and distribution teams. This called for eliminating redundant roles, and integrating talent/teams to better align with the regions. In 2017 we further streamlined the function to meet the changing priorities of the business.
