Daily Duties at Travelport:
This was a newly created position as a result of merging to companies under Blackstone Investment ownership. I was working for Galileo GDS and Blackstone purchased Worldspan GDS to merger the two groups. My responsibilities was to close down on companies existing airline hosting service and combine the teams to support one solution for the industry and customers. I managed a remote based Product management team of 9 employees to create, development, enhance & manage existing airline solutions within their life cycle for airline existing customers. Providing support for potential new customers and grow the product line. Represented the group at 2 conferences with multiple airlines in attendance.
What they like about Travelport:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
