Daily Duties at Sma Solutions:
– Responsible for approximately 80 customers, making sure all automation problems were solved and automation software up-to-date for several different operating systems (Windows, Unix\Linux, IBM i (AS/400) and Z/OS mainframes, Unisys OS2200 and MCP mainframes). Traveled to each customer site every two to three years. Helped several customers automate disaster recovery processes. First by implementing SQL Server replication and then automating the entire disaster recovery\business continuance process. In most cases, reducing the recovery time from hours to minutes by removing any and all manual steps. Conducted automation audits to help find additional areas where automation solutions could be implemented. Helped design new features for automation software based on the needs of the customer. In some cases, wrote simple PowerShell or Microsoft SQL Server scripts to provide the process or information to meet the customer need. Answered questions from Request For Proposals (RFP) or Request For Information (RFI). Conducted Proof of Concepts (POC) to aid in the sales process.
