Daily Duties at Kla Tencor, Inc.:

With my background in electron beams from graduate school I was hired to manage an electron gun development project used in an electron beam semiconductor wafer inspection tool. The electron gun was pre-existing and needed modification for smaller spot size and less vibration on the wafer surface. This required modification of the electrostatic lenses and brazing of multiple ceramic to metal joints in the gun. A team of engineers worked on the project, including several that reported directly to me, plus others that worked in other departments. Weekly and quarterly reporting to management was required. All required engineering specifications were completed on time and on budget.
