Daily Duties at Aker Kvaerner, Inc :

• Responsible for project CAD coordination, implementation, installation of PDS & SPPID • Developing PDS piping specifications standards in PDS for Kvaerner non-ferrous business (USA, Canada, Chile offices) • Writing piping specs in PDS for more than 10 projects for the mining industry and a power plant industry • Understanding of all aspects of the reference database administration. Supporting piping designers and mechanical users. • Customizing Isogen to project needs • Creating PDS projects through the “express project creation” facility • Customization of piping forms using DM_DBA software, piping components using Eden moodules • Creation of PDS piping assemblies and piping specialties standards. • Troubleshooting user problems related to model corruption, isometric extraction, etc. • Troubleshooting network problems related to physical and software connectivity • Loading new software, fixes and patches on PDS/CAD machines • Implementing “cloning” of new Compaq “PDS” machines to increase productivity and consistency in software versions through the company. • Creating and managing security for PDS users. • Support and customization of Smart Plant P&ID • Installation of Oracle 9i in production server, creation of instance, aliases to allow users to connect to PDS & SPPID dB • Tested and upgraded PDS projects from 6.4.1 to PDS 7.1 • Drawing creation, annotation; rdb conflict reports; clash management and validation in project; stress interface from PDS to Caesar’s II; • Smart Plant Viewer training session, isogen training session, rdb training session
