Productively performed methods in Molecular Cloning: Aseptic Techniques in Biological Safety Cabinet, Cell-Culture, Isolation of Nucleic acids, SDS-PAGE and Agarose gel-electrophoresis, PCR, RT-PCR, & qPCR. Cloned plasmids carrying genes of interest to produce Recombinant Adenoviruses. Manipulated bacterial, mammalian cell-lines for altering Gene-expression in cells. Analyzed Proteins on Isolation, Quantitation and Western blot. Performed cell-based functionality assays and statistically analyzed the data generated. Coached new fellows and students in developing lab techniques to achieve individual project goals. Gained familiarity with Mice sub-cutaneous tumour implantation, surgeries and Luciferin Imaging. Diligently maintained safety and quality standards. Coordinated preventative maintenance on existing and new lab equipment, including routine calibration. Monitored and maintained inventory of lab & research supplies, using the on-line SAP / SRM requisitioner. Received & shipped materials from various JHU affiliations both in the US & internationally as per the DOT / IATA specifications. Operated & maintained lab equipments such as PCR, Real-time qPCR Thermalcyclers (ICycler & Taqman), Fluorimeter, Luminometer & Liquid-Scintillation counter, Gel-imager, Centrifuges, pH-meter, Analytical balance, Spectrophotometer, Light and Fluorescent Microscopes, Biological Safety Cabinet, Incubators, Refrigerators, and Freezers. Used the MESA electronic system to monitor Freezer & Incubator alarms. Developed and maintained strong and clear communication and rapport with lab personnel. Interacted with vendors for quotations, special pricing and product related technical questions. Cultivated knowledge of Microsoft office (MS word,Excel, Power point) and proficiency in VectorNTI Software. Carried out tasks in connecting instruments with computers, downloading and installing software, data entry and retrieval.
