Daily Duties at Kent County Health Department:

Maternal-child home visit case management, some well child clinics, immunizations, communicable diseases, lead poisoning follow-up, and scoliosis screenings originally then doing home visits, case management pregnancy counseling, blood pressure checks, breast feeding, encouragement and teaching on infant and toddler growth and development, screenings (Denver Developmental tests & Ages and Stages questionnaires), referrals to Ken-O-Sha and Early On for developmental delays, weight/height/head circumference measurements, discussing and encouraging smoking cessation, referrals to RD and MSW as needed, referrals to community agencies (food pantries, Medicaid, First Call for Help, dentists, doctors, Mile-O-Dime shoe/boot programs, car seats, smoke detectors, Healthy Start, and Strong Beginnings Program).
