Daily Duties at New York Mobile Satellite, Llc:
Trusted Strategic Advisor and key member of the Senior Executive Team; participate in the development and execution of the company's long-term growth strategies and profit plans Responsible for "hands-on" leadership, planning and administration of financial accounting and reporting; financial management, including policy development and implementation; short and long-term forecasting; cash flow, treasury, bank relations, foreign exchange, risk management; vendor management, internal audit; tax; strategic planning; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; and information technology • Oversee the capital structure of the company • Direct the preparation of financial forecasts and financial statements for all operations, including international operations, month-end close. • Manage all external financial reporting, tax, internal controls, internal audit and policies and procedures • Conduct financial evaluations of proposals and capital investments • Present financial information and support the CEO and senior management during Board meetings • Lead the preparation of the Company's annual budget • Ensure that effective financial analyses, accounting and control procedures and financial reporting systems exist to provide accurate, timely and meaningful analysis and reporting of the Company’s financial information • Participate in continuous cost reduction programs, as well as new initiatives • Prepare and analyze financial information, work with CPA Firm filing tax returns: forms 1120 and form 1065; report significant findings and issues to the CEO, Board of Directors, lenders and other operating managers; participate in quarterly Board presentations • Develop and maintain internal audit control systems and the administration of cash management programs for all applications • Direct comprehensive financial planning and control programs to assist management in the establishment of viable business plans and the achievement of financial goals and objectives • Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations, including SOX, US GAAP, IFRS (international Financial Reporting Standards), U.S Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA) and SEC Reporting requires • Establish policies and formulate programs to develop and control the accumulation and analysis of product costs to assist in the establishment of customer price • Provide solid and effective leadership to ensure that departmental staff are continuously motivated and contribute at an optimal level. Assure the staffing of the Finance and IT functions and effective utilization of assigned personnel • Coordinate financial goals and objectives with corporate management to improve business planning, profit planning, budgeting and forecasting • Identify and keep abreast of potential areas of financial exposure and stay current on financial, operational and internal control issues(SOX). • Experience interacting with legal counsel, bankers, investors and foreign governments. • Negotiated $325M partnership agreements with major satellite manufacturers: Inmarsat, Iridium, Hughes Network. • Supervise and develop staff through internal/external training, performance evaluations, etc. Manage a budget of $125M and accounting, finance staff of 35 and internationally resellers and vendors 74.
