Daily Duties at Menard, Inc:
General Manager: Capitalize on the opportunity to lead forward-thinking multi-site retail business operations for a $60-million unit with 1.1 million transactions annually, including previously managing locations in Woodstock, Batavia, West Chicago, and Naperville, IL, as well as opening and managing new Baraboo, WI, Carpentersville, and Sycamore, IL locations. Drive operations growth by recruiting, training, mentoring, and managing a top team of retail associates, including leading 200 team members in Kenosha while overseeing 3 assistant general managers and 12 department heads. Lead targeted decision-making across all store operations, including making choices with the directive to turn a profit. Manage a customer service-oriented outside sales team to ensure safety and productivity at all times in attaining goals. Maximize bottom-line performance by directing all sales (including website sales), profit / loss, payroll, labor / expense control, contract negotiations, inbound / outbound deliveries, legal /compliance, and policies / procedures. Cost-effectively manage high-volume inventory while mitigating loss by implementing solid loss prevention techniques
