Daily Duties at Florida Lyme Advocacy:

As the founder and director of Florida Lyme Advocacy and affiliate of the larger, national Lyme disease Association, I serve as an educator, advocate and public health speaker for the Lyme disease community. This includes providing doctor information, medical and scientific evidence and literature to patients in need of support of appeals for newer, emerging treatments, meeting with and giving formal speeches on the incidence, prevalence and scope of Lyme disease to state level officials and legislators, lobbying legislation at the state and national level, and serving as a resource to patients in search of accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. This is done through emails, internet-based communications (we are listed as a resource on the national Lyme disease website), and fielding individual phone calls from sick patients in Florida.

What they like about Florida Lyme Advocacy:

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
