Daily Duties at Nassau County Volunteer Center:
As the Executive Director of this 501(C)3 non-profit, I single-handedly oversee the daily volunteer recruitment, vetting and placement of volunteers with our 35+ non-profit organizations, market and execute all in-house programs to serve those most in need in Nassau County, Florida, and produce all written communications and formal community speaking engagements to promote donor development, volunteer interest, and community support for all Nassau County Volunteer Center events, programs and campaigns. This includes interviewing interested volunteers and determining the best fit for their background, experience and interests, writing all social media content, website content, press releases and marketing copy for the Center's programs and events, as well as appearing throughout the County to build strategic partnerships with businesses and Civic organizations to drive further donors and volunteer interest. Handle all financial and operational aspects of the Center while also developing and executing new programs to fill the gaps in service that exist beyond the efforts of other non-profits.
What they like about Nassau County Volunteer Center:
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
