Daily Duties at Utc Aerospace Systems:

Provide hands-on day-to-day operations of all business-critical systems within the Corporate Office, branch offices and Data Center networks, Voice and Data, by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Ensure that records of system downtime and hardware inventory were properly maintained. Apply revisions to host system firmware and software. Develope new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability and IT efficiency. Trained technical staff and user community on how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired. Perform troubleshooting and lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations. Establish guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host computer operating systems, disk arrays, network switching and routing, backup strategies and other components. Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources. Enforce SOX IT control systems and security policy regulatory compliance. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Plan, coordinate, and implement timely PC, Printer, and mobile phone refresh. Deploy, maintain and improve enterprise backup and recovery solution to ensure proper data retention and preparation in the event of a disaster by yearly business continuity testing. Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software. Stay current with technological developments in information systems technology and recommends ways for company to take advantage of new technology. Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project status, policies and procedures. Provide tier 3 escalated IT support for end users. Other duties as assigned.
