Daily Duties at Oxy Chem:

Vinyl Chloride Monomer Plant: Provide maintenance support for reliability related issues over a wide range of both fixed and rotating equipment including: - Heat Exchangers, PSVs, Pressure Vessels, Piping, Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Mechanical Seals, Furnaces - Selection of metallic materials and best painting practices/coating selection - Create various MOC’s which involves working with Maintenance Planners/Supervisors, Process Engineers, and Mechanical Integrity Superintendent regarding temporary repairs, etc. - Participate in projects by working with Project Engineers on job scope questions that arise; including field work and create capital funding requests - Work with Rotating Equipment Engineer on major compressor/turbine overhauls, including multi-stage centrifugal compressors for propylene refrigeration, as well as day-to-day reliability and troubleshooting issues. - Work with Maintenance and Process Supervisors on issues that arise in their areas such as EDC, VCM, and Rail Car - Participate and lead incident investigations and root cause analysis meetings - Assist, oversee/specify the inspection and installation of fixed and rotating equipment including temporary repairs - Create Management of Change (MOC) requests and present to management for approval - Oversee/manage PRV (Pressure Relief Valve) program - Troubleshoot reliability related issues and implement improvements - Provide maintenance support for turnarounds and plant start-ups - Specify capital equipment and generate capital funding requests for exchangers, tanks, vessels, rotating equipment - Work with Project Engineers on equipment replacement projects to ensure they are executed as planned - Provide maintenance support for reliability related issues over a wide range of equipment including: - Heat Exchangers, PSVs, Pressure Vessels, Piping, Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Mechanical Seals, Furnaces - Selection of metallic materials and best painting practices/coating selection - Create various MOC’s which involves working with Maintenance Planners/Supervisors, Process Engineers, and Mechanical Integrity Superintendent regarding temporary repairs, etc. - Participate in projects by working with Project Engineers on job scope questions that arise; including field work and create capital funding requests - Work with Rotating Equipment Engineer on major compressor/turbine overhauls, including multi-stage centrifugal compressors for propylene refrigeration, as well as day-to-day reliability and troubleshooting issues. - Work with Maintenance and Process Supervisors on issues that arise in their areas such as EDC, VCM, and Rail Car - Participate and lead incident investigations and root cause analysis meetings
