Daily Duties at University Of Miami:
• Tasked with creating a new Organ Allocation Department. Hired and trained all people at the Allocation Department. Department allocates thoracic and abdominal organs. The Department shorten by 10% time of allocation and improved placement of thoracic organs by 16% compared with the previous years. • Hired and trained several new employees to perform organ perfusion, kidney dissection, and kidney placement on LifePort Kidney Transporter, as well as to perform recovery organs for research. The Department increased the number of kidneys evaluated by LifePort by 50%. • Developed numerous SOPs standardizing work of LAORA Preservation and Allocation Departments. • As a PI performed research on donors’ acute kidney injury and it’s correlation with machine measured renal resistance to better evaluate marginal grafts and provide recommendations to transplant surgeons. • Prepared the Department of Recovery for ex-vivo organ normothermic preservation. Maquet trained and certified seven employees to use Cardiohelp ECMO machine. • Performed Leadership – on- Call duties for LAORA, as well as Administrator on Call duties for Allocation and Preservation Departments. • Lectured regarding clinical physiology, anatomy, organ preservation during numerous hospitals’ Grand Rounds, hospital personnel training, and staff training.
