Daily Duties at Data41:

With every engagement, an initial meeting is scheduled where users/stakeholders of the new or existing systems describe the features and functionality they require. A detailed document is prepared based on the requirements and presented to the client that includes a budget, list of milestones with preliminary dates based on the clients schedule, and a detailed diagram of the design. Most of the requests clients are looking for are budgeting and complex rolling forecasts. Assuming the client accepts the engagement, we begin the implementation which includes accessing the data sources, a list of required reports, status calls or meetings scheduled if needed. For training purposes, users are given a customized technical manual specific to the application as a reference should they have a question when the implementation is completed. The implementations are usually financial in nature where we're interacting with accounting/finance types of personnel. The data sources we work with are typically trial balances, chart of accounts and other financial data. The accounting systems vary with clients, some use JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle.
