Daily Duties at United Technologies Aerospace Systems:

I was promoted to Facility Manager from Operations system specialist to provide planning and management direction to all new multi-faceted Division-wide facility development projects and test equipment/instrumentation support involving multiple buildings on the Hamilton Sundstrand complex. Direct projects from initial planning, concept development and feasibility analysis through cost estimates, funding appropriation, regulatory approval, design, specifications, engineering, scheduling, construction, prove out and maintenance. Diverse scope includes installation, operation and maintenance of buildings, equipment, structures, utility systems, waste treatment systems, new software/systems development, environmental and hazardous material operations, tool and supply services. Plan and administer annual multi-million dollar expense and capital budget. Recruit, train, develop and supervise team of facility engineers, test equipment designers and metrology engineers; oversight of additional union maintenance technicians as assigned to projects as well as outside contractors/service vendors and their staffs. Coordinate and establish policies, procedures and standards to ensure uniformity for both operations and maintenance staffs. Team with Engineering, Facilities Services, Operations, Quality and Program departments on all facility requirements needed to operate as a business unit in achieving objectives.
