Daily Duties at Finlandia University:
Prepare a budget and allocate spending on coach’s salaries, team travel, equipment purchases, and facility upkeep. Schedule of games, facilities and practices. Work with conferences and leagues on scheduling, post-season play and other issues. Provide guidance and evaluations for coaches. Hiring of coaches File annual reports on the status of each team and its successes and shortcomings. Work with other school administrators to assure student athletes are academically eligible for a given sport. Work with a compliance officer to make sure a program is acting within conference and NCAA, or other association, rules. Participate in a number of committees and teams for both the academic faculty/staff and community members. Schedule practices, games and team meetings Manage budget for travel, equipment and conferences Recruit quality athletes and maintain a full roster Oversee athletic eligibility and monitor academic progress Complete all NCAA compliance forms Participate in Community Service Projects
