Daily Duties at Mc Kesson:

The ALM team provides these tools and services to other business units as well as supports and admins them. These tools include Quality Center, HP ALM, StarTeam, Caliber, Rally, TFS, Clarity, Atlassian Suite (Jira, grasshopper, bamboo, confluence, etc.) Quality Center Migration: I managed the company-wide migration of QC10 to HPALM. Single handedly managed the migrations of 260+ instances of Quality Center version 10 to HP ALM which included maintaining all integrations with other applications that different business units had in QC prior to migration. Engaged customers to coordinate migration scheduling based on their project release schedule and worked with them to identify dates that had least impact to users given that system would be unavailable for about 6-8 hours. Communicated with the Oracle DBA team on a daily basis to inform which projects were on the schedule and provided all the necessary information needed for staging of data tables, copying of database schemas etc. Once database setup was complete I looped in the HP ALM migration admins for them to begin migration. Tracked the internal testing effort post-migration to ensure that everything was setup correctly and reconfiguring any custom setting was handled. Facilitated timely communication to customers prior to migration by sending pre-migration notifications and once migration was complete sending another migration complete notification FDA Validation: Given that the tools supported by the ALM team are used by other units to create or develop code that is utilized by medical devices, quality management has become a mandatory process. Even though the ALM team does not produce or manufacture any FDA related artifacts, they must ensure that their tools work as intended especially when some of the tools are customized. Created the FDA Validation process for the ALM team to meet FDA regulation for medical devices as required by 21 CFR Part 11 and CFR Part 820. Worked to identify all the tools supported by ALM Team, doing an assessment of each to find out which tools are utilized to produce FDA products, and finally scoped the effort. Validated HP ALM Tool and performed a GxP assessment of tools supported, Created a validation inventory list, a master validation plan, a validation plan for HP ALM, requirements, traceability matrix, test plan, test summary plan and a validation summary. Engaged HP to receive certification or validation of the product’s core functionality to assist with validation effort Process Improvement: CMMI Lead the Team’s process improvement initiative using the CMMi (Capability Maturity Model Integration) methodology. Interviewed different teams in the DSS (Development Support Service) organization to understand processes followed from service request to implementation of service Documented all the processes and reviewed processes with CMMi SME’s to get sign off and ensure that information collected was accurate and aligned with what they needed to be able to audit the organization and identify gaps for improvement maturity level 3. Managed CMMi documentation for all different tools on sharepoint site Process Improvement: Kanban Attended Kanban Training, documented and managed Implementation of the test Kanban boards to improve the team’s service delivery by eliminating waste of resources.

What they like about Mc Kesson:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
