Daily Duties at Muhlenberg School District:
Muhlenberg School District is governed by 9 individually elected board members (the "Board") which elects a President (from its current board members) every year to act as President of the Board of Directors. the Board establishes all school policy for governance, academic standards, curriculum development, behavioral Support, homebound Instruction, textbooks, Non-discrimination, public safety, health and welfare of students and staff, student code of conduct, unlawful harassment, compensation, professional development, district finances, district property, district operations and community relations, just to name a few. The District receives some of its policy guidance from Pennsylvania State Board of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania General Assembly.and the Federal government. Federal guidelines controls/programs include Title I funding for low-income children in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and ESSA, which mandates the district focus resources on student success in acquiring reading and math skills. The Superintendent and Business Manager are appointed by the school board. The Superintendent is the chief administrative officer with overall responsibility for all aspects of operations, including education and finance.
