Daily Duties at Baylor College Of Medicine:
Identified several interacting molecules involved in signaling mechanism(s) to known Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonism genes. Various domains of Parkin (PARK2), Lrrk2 (PARK8), GIGYF2 (PARK11), and HtrA2 (PARK13) were used in Yeast-Two-Hybrid system for screening of interacting molecules. 1) Molecular biology: cDNA library screening and gene cloning (cloned over 100 human cDNA). RT-PCR, DNA sequence analyses, SNP identification and standard molecular biology techniques. 2) Protein-Protein interaction in Yeast-two-hybrid system. Protein expression studies by co-affinity purification assays. 3) Designed and prepared several expression clones in various expression vectors to use in cell culture study. 4) Give research training to juniors (students and research staff).
