Broward County Public Schools (Full-Time) Lauderdale Lakes, FL 2014- 2016 Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Instructional Coach at Lauderdale Lakes Middle School Achievements & Duties: • Established successful partnerships with Science Alive! & Nova Southeastern University o Implemented a community STEM infusion event for students to get exposure to a variety of STEM hands-on activities that fosters interests in the fields of STEM • Established successful partnerships with Florida Atlantic University in STEM-based Remotely-Operated Vehicle (ROV) construction and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) construction. o Students competed in Regional ROV FAU SeaPerch competition o Students competed and won 2nd place in Racing at the High School Level Competition, 2nd & 3rd place at the Middle School Level FAU State UAV Competition. o Both myself and Mr. Norman Ebsary won the Director’s Award from FAU State UAV Competition for getting a middle school to participate and win in a traditionally high school event. • Pioneered the idea, and assisted in the editing of the grant for a STEM coding activity, where students would design 2 apps by the end of the school year. Acquired collaboration from Nova Southeastern University as a partnership in the grant. o Lauderdale Lakes Middle School was awarded the Motorola STFEF STEM Solutions Grant by the Broward Education Foundation for $5000 • Acquired 100% Faculty implementation of various data acquisition software’s and data aggregation techniques through whole-school Professional Development Training • Increased implementation of curriculum alignment across horizontal and vertical teams o Alignment to National Common Core Standards and State Standards o Curriculum map design and alignment across various subjects: Physical Science, Biology, Life Science, and Earth & Space Science • Increased the attendance rates of Faculty at Professional Learning Communities • Increased the proficiency of students acquiring a 40% or higher on the District Benchmark Assessment Formative 1 (BAF 1) scores, on the Physical Science BAF 1 & Biology BAF 1 o Increased student’s proficiencies from 40% passing on commonly-formed assessments (CFA’s) from beginning of the year to 85% proficiency on the CFA’s by the end of the school year ♣ Implemented push-in/pull-out schedule to increase proficiency ♣ Implemented a modeling of best practices/instructional strategies schedule ♣ Collaborated across other school visits to learn and gather best practices to be used at our own institution o Brought-in Gizmo implementation for Biology/Physical Science courses o Modified pacing calendars and aligned the curriculum for all science courses Broward County Public Schools (Full-Time) Pembroke Pines, FL 2007- 2014 Science Instructor at West Broward High School & Piper High School Achievements & Duties: • Was awarded the Hispanic Heritage Foundation both National (2014) and Regional (2013) Innovative Educator Awards • Acquired 100% of Biology students to pass Biology End-of-Course (EOC) Exams during 2012-2013 school year, and 87% or higher pass rates all other prior years • Was voted Team Leader for Science Electives 2 consecutive years o Increased enrollment in Anatomy & Physiology and Marine Science to be the highest in the district for both during the 2012-2013 school year o Designed Curriculum Map alignment in conjunction with Subject Teams for Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Marine Science • Established an annual STEM Career Day with local community partners and STEM professionals from multiple fields o Established partnerships with Nova Southeastern University, University of Florida, IBM, & Memorial Healthcare Systems • Established an annual Microbiology Infusion Event with local partnerships at Nova Southeastern University • Increased enrollment of After-School Tutoring in Science (specifically Biology) • Organized and managed the disbursement and inventory accountability system for whole-school textbook distribution • Designed and aligned curriculum maps for Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Marine Science • Designed multiple Staff Development (SD) Training’s o Presented SD on various core topics: Technology/Web Infusion, Testing Depth of Knowledge/Bloom’s Taxonomy, Quia & Google Docs (Data Acquisition Software) • Organized annual Human Relations Council “Pangaea Festival” with community partnerships • Taught Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Marine Science, and Chemistry at the Regular & Honors levels • Website Design

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
