Preparation of federal tax returns (1 consolidated, 15 subsidiary). Preparation of 34 state returns (4 unitary, 30 separate company). Calculation of apportionment and provision. Account analyses. Accounting for Passive Investment Companies. Managed customer compliance with sales and use tax for resale exemption status, which included collecting exemption certificates. Set up (domestic) new customers in Vertex Tax Decision Maker to account for jurisdiction taxability and then update into SAP. Analyze the Sales and Use Tax accrual account when calculating each state’s monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns. Prepared and submitted Sales and Use Tax Returns for 17 states. Calculated and submitted GST Tax Returns for sales in Canada.
