Daily Duties at Indian River County Sheriff's Office:
Detective- Organized Crime Bureau and Narcotics unit. Investigated illegal narcotic activities, gambling, liquor and numbers violations, as well as any vice related offences. Worked undercover making hand to hand buys of illegal narcotics. Wrote and served Search and Arrest Warrants. Handled informants, conducted surveillances, and assisted in the writing, monitoring and logging of court ordered intercepts of oral communications (wire taps) and had Special Deputation with the F.B.I. Deputy Sheriff, Uniform Division- routine police and patrol duties. From investigating civil non-law enforcement complaints to crimes of robbery, homicide, burglary, auto theft, ECT. Enforced State laws as well as county ordinance violations. I was a Field Training Officer (FTO) in which I would train, test, and evaluate new recruits which were hired onto the department. I was a S.W.A.T. Team leader of which I supervised a five-man team. Our team was utilized in the execution of high-risk search warrants, barricaded subjects, additionally sniper and hostage situations along with dignitary protection.
